MICRO ZINES

Formed from a single sheet of A4 paper printed on just one side. (sample micro zine, Tessa Newcomb)

Create your own template

  1. Divide into Eighths: Fold your A4 paper in half lengthwise, then unfold. Fold it in half widthwise , and then fold each of those halves inward to the centre crease. You should now have a grid of 8 equal panels.
  2. The Middle Cut: Fold the paper in half widthwise again so it looks like a small tent. Use your scissors to cut along the middle fold line, starting from the folded edge and stopping exactly at the next crease. Do not cut to the outer edges.
  3. Unfold the paper. You should see a slit in the middle that looks like an “open mouth”.
  4. Assemble the Booklet: Fold the paper lengthwise along the central crease. Hold the two outer ends and push them toward the centre. The middle slit will pop open into a diamond shape. Keep pushing until the panels collapse into a cross-shaped booklet.
  5. Final Crease: Flatten the pages and fold them over to create your 8-page book, including a front and back cover

LOCATIONS

We are looking to deploy the Distromat project across locations in Norfolk and Suffolk within striking distance of the Distromat HQ in Lowestoft .

We aim to work closely with each location to feature individually curated temporary collections alongside the growing permanent collection.

If you are interested in your gallery, venue or arts organisation providing a temporary or permanent location and to help curate a special collection for Distromat then do get in touch.

Submit your microzine. Send in your submission as a full page A4 pdf.

Zinesters receive 50p for every micro zine sold. All creatives featured in Distromat wil be promoted in our online directory.

OUR FOOTPRINT

Our micro zines are 100% paper products, free of plastic laminates and metal staples. Our paper is endorsed by the Woodland Trust, made with pulp from sustainably managed forests. The paper is made at a net carbon zero production plant using a chlorine free process.

We print the zines using our own solar powered printer using only 100% food safe inks for a 100% toxin free, 100% recyclable and 100% home compostable product.
