“I was gifted two Edwardian books of amateur photography for possible use in collage work. Removing the pages from their binding, I initially separated them into portraits and landscapes and resolved to interrogate these images allowing them to develop in any way that they seemed to want to go. Some became quite surreal or absurd outcomes whilst others were pushed more to abstraction. Subversion of the original was a focus throughout. Here are a selection of some of those investigations.
